Short description
I am department head of Medical Psychology at Maastricht UMC and have worked here since 1996 in various positions. I am also a clinical neuropsychologist, clinical psychologist and psychotherapist. From 1992-1996 I did doctoral research on the effects of anesthesia on cognitive functioning, on which I received my PhD in 1997. In the hospital I worked for years at the Memory Clinic where I saw patients with dementia and non-congenital brain injuries for diagnosis and treatment. I have also been a long-time trainer at MUMC+ for the post-doctoral programs in psychology. I currently focus both my research and care on patients with cancer and more specifically on patients with brain tumors in relation to cognitive functioning.
